Season's Greetings!

We just finished packing up a batch of fresh sauerkraut and have an idea for an unusual selection for a holiday farm fruit box which seems to fit the holiday season well.

This is what we've come up with for the special holiday box on 12/29:  half peck apples (York and Goldrush), 1/2 gal. cider, 1 1/2# fresh sauerkraut,  pt. apple butter, red cabbage.  Cost is $20

We will drop off by 3:30 and just ask that you pick up by 7:00.

If you'd like to host a dropoff point 12/29, let us know.  You needn’t be there.  All we'd need is a suitable sheltered place for a small number of cartons—like a porch or garage.

Sauerkraut is simply our organic cabbage and salt fermented by naturally occuring lactobacilli.  These little beasties confir all kinds of beneficial healthful byproducts to the food.  The organic apples are scrumptious and crisp--great for holiday fruit salads, baking, or snacking.  Apple butter is made by Sally & Tom Davis of Sally’s Cider Press from apples, and boiled down cider--healthful, seasonal, and great on toast...  Cider was made in the fall from our organic apples and frozen.  Red cabbage will make a great addition to a New Year's feast.

Pickup locations will include Squirrel Hill/Oakland, Friendship, Mt. Lebanon, Beechwood Nature Center, Sewickley, and the farm.  Other locations possible if sufficient numbers.

We'll confirm your pickup location.

Thanks for all.

P.S. We can also have a half bushel of apples--$20, either with the other box or alone.
