Spring Salad with Caper Dressing

1 head green or red lettuce               1/4 c. coarsely chopped fresh herbs

1/4 # mesclun                                     (oregano, basil, thyme, chives...)

Dressing:  Puree 1/2 c. olive oil, 1/4 c. balsamic vinegar, 1 Tbs. lemon juice, 1 clove garlic, 1/8 tsp. fresh black pepper, 1 tbs whole capers w/juice.  Dress greens just before serving.  (We didn't have the capers and it still was excellent.)
