Winter Veggie Season 2018-2019

Winter CSA Veggie Boxers

An amazing variety of local produce is available for a good bit of late fall and early winter from our western Pennsylvania farm--especially between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays (when one really wants to enjoy the fresh bounty)!  There's a remarkable variety (often more than at the beginning of the summer season)--veggies from the summer which store very well--root crops like potatoes, carrots, beets, turnips; also winter squash, onions, cabbage, garlic, onions, herbs, honey, cider, and apples. We usually have kale until about Christmas, and a small quantity of fresh greens from the greenhouse.

Quantities are larger because things store well for the longer time between deliveries. This year, we'll also have tomato sauce and salsa which we had processed from our phenomenal 2018 tomato crop.

You can order either/both:

Standard winter season of 5 boxes--(W) Delivery on Dec. 5/6, Dec. 19/20, Jan. 9/10, Jan. 23/24, Feb. 13/14.   Cost: $200.

Here's an example of some things we expect to have in the December boxes, if weather doesn't change things:

3# potatoes, 4# butternut squash--one large or two smaller, ½ gal. organic apple cider, bunch kale, 1# carrots, beets,  small bag mesclun mix, lettuce, mixed “winter” herbs, large sweet onion, Bloody mary mix (great as a breakfast drink too!)**, marinara sauce** pint mild salsa**.

We expect to deliver to East End, Lawrenceville, Squirrel Hill, Mt. Lebanon, LaRoche-McKnight, Ben Avon, Moon, Hopewell Twp., Sewickley, and anywhere there are enough subscribers to warrant a stop. If interested, please e-mail with "winter share" in the subject line, and send on a $100 deposit. If you are a 2018 CSA member, you needn't send a new signup form.  If you are new, please fill out the information on the general signup page and note it's for the winter csa.

**Made from our own organic tomatoes, onions, peppers, and herbs--canned professionally.
